Group A Production Meeting

Date: 08/04/2008.

Present: Robert Strachan, John Whittle, Caryn Read, Chris Armstrong, Jack Serjeant, Paul Seaman, Stewart Rice.

Apologies for absence: James Fox, William Kavanagh

Chair: Caryn Read & ?

1. Minutes from last meeting:

Agreed upon.

2. Matters arising:

• Handing off issues, artists need to hand off all work to programmers ASAP and programmers need to give feedback and advice on problems as well.
• Importing texture problem is a priority and needs to be sorted ASAP
• Models need to be checked for problems, reversed normals/holes etc

3. Individual Progress Reports:

Bill – Animations on the whole okay. Run cycle is wrong (point of contact and ‘camel-marching’)
John – Weighting causing problems therefore animations not completed.
Caryn/Rob/Chris – Textures for control room done. Too bland, needs more interest in texture.

4. Planning for next week:

• Bill – Finish rigging/weighting the Alien model and create walk/run/crouch/idle animation.
• John – Model and texture assets and clutter for the canister room.
• Caryn & Chris – Design puzzle for canister room. Create GUI for puzzle in canister room.
• Rob – Model & texture canister model. Assist with canister puzzle and GUI if needed.
• Stewart - Export animated models (player and aliens(if finished))
• James - Verify the GUI has been made, if not, get it in game
• Jack - Solve texture problems
• Paul - All static models in game for test, provide canister sizes for storage room map, build
storage room map with scripting and canisters from Rob


5. Production Issues:

This seem alright?
Once i've added the programmer parts i'll email it ^_^

Yea I said I wasn't keen on the run cycle... I'll get onto that when I've sorted the disaster out.
If I'm correct you want me to animate the alien? If so can you upload them somewhere for me and I'll do that soon.

yeah sure i'll get either john or rob to do that.
the weights started to have a hissy fit and even though they look to be alright, when you move the foot the head moves etc. you may need to look at that lol
if you'd been there today then they'd have asked you today ^_^
barry and mike said not to worry too much about the character animations now. they look fine from behind and that's all that matters lol
if there's time at the end then we can tweak.

Any chance a programmer could tell me what the programmers were set to do?

As far as i know the programming jobs are.....

Stewart - export animated models (player and aliens(if finished))

Everyone needs to check these to make sure they are accurate to the best of their knowledge please
